Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries Review
Like many other bloggers, I am a big reader. While some like to spend their time browsing the internet, I like to unwind with a good old fashioned book. I am especially an avid fan of the fantasy, paranormal, and sci-fi genres. Lately, as I've been doing more reviews and working on other projects, I have felt I haven't had time to catch up on my reading list. One of the books that has been one my list for awhile is Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries – which I had the opportunity to review for free thanks to the author and Tomoson. Last night, I finally had the chance to unwind and read through this pirate adventure.
Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries: Plot
As you likely guessed from the cover of the book, Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries is a book revolving around one of the exploits of Terra Vonnel, a notorious female pirate. This fast paced book starts off with daring chase against the vampire, Count Dragos, as she tries to recover the second skull of Aries and discover the location of the Orb of Time. This book keeps you at the edge of your seat with all the action and wondering what is going to happen next! Of course, since I don't want to ruin the book for anyone, you will just have to find out for yourself what happen to Terra Vonnel during her adventure!
Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries: Style
One of the things that is very unique about the author, D.C. Akers, is that he is very good at getting you involved in the story. From the very beginning, you are part of an action packed adventure and starting to ask questions about the world which Terra Vonnel lives. Since Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries is only a novelette, and the first book in the series, I am expecting we will be learning more about the world itself and Terra's past – something I spent most of the book wanting to know more about.
If there is one important thing that readers should know about Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries – it is that the book is written for a tween to teenage audience. I would say that the reading level makes it perfect for anyone ten or older. Since it was made for a younger audience, the whole story is also fairly short, being a bit under 100 pages.
Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries: My Thoughts
Personally, I thought Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries was a fun, quick little read. I was able to have the whole book finished within an hour to hour and a half – making it a great deal at .99. It is in all, a good, clean hour of fun that is perfect for kids of all ages, especially pirate fans. As well, who doesn't want to read about a smart heroine that kicks butt?
