Neato Robotics Review

Neato Robotics Review

Do you love gimmicks? I have to admit, I do. I'm one of those people who walk into Brookstone and looking at all the neat gadgets that are everywhere. I am also one of those people who think it would be so cool to have robots doing all my chores! Wouldn't it be so cool to have a robot made like Judy from the Jetsons? Recently, I saw one of the coolest little gadgets that I think would be perfect for dealing with little vacuum messes – the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner.

I know what you are thinking – how on Earth could this little vacuum do so much? Well, from what I have read, the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner is a little robot version of my Dyson DC-24 vacuum (click to read my review). Like the Dyson, it designed for both pet owners, and people who suffer from severe allergies. Its special filtering system (the Pet & Allergy Filter) retains more than three times the amount of dust particles of a standard filter, including most typical allergens like dirt, pollen, dander, fibers, and even pet hair! It does this by boosting airflow and using more suction power than any other vacuum on the market! With the assistance of its special bristle and blade brush combination, the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner is really perfect for nearly any household!

What else is cool about the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner? For one, it is a bagless vacuum.  After having owned a bagless vacuum for years, I could not imagine owning anything else. Growing up, I dealt with those awful bags that threw dust everywhere and made such a mess that my family would only change vacuum bags outside. Similar to the Dyson, the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner dust compartment is super easy to clean and saves not just your pocket book, but the environment too, since you are no longer using and throwing out paper bags full of dust into landfills.

While what I said above sound pretty cool, that doesn't explain why I would love finding one of these under the tree this Christmas.  For starters, it can be set up for daily cleaning and can be trusted to clean your home without you even being there! The Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner uses its RPS Technology™, Laser-based Vision & Room Mapping system to completely map your rooms. This system makes an accurate map of your rooms that need cleaning, remembering the placement of furniture, objects, doorways, and even room divisions if it needs to switch from carpet to wood or even vinyl flooring! Since it constantly updates its map, this even means it can pick up new furniture and toys left in the middle of the room.  How cool is that?

While the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner can clean your floor daily, can it actually do a good job? From all of my research and talking to others who own this vacuum, I have been told that is quieter than most vacuums on the market and does a fantastic job cleaning. Since it vacuum more than just carpets, many owners have thrown away their brooms since it does a fantastic job vacuuming vinyl and wood floors. Part of the reason that this Neato XV-21 does such a good job is that it goes in a methodical back and forth pattern, just like a real person. What it does better than a person, however, is dealing with close corners, next to walls, vacuuming under furniture, and even around toys without damaging your home. When it's done, it even goes 'home' to its base to recharge.

Even though I have an amazing vacuum, I would love to own a Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner just to get rid of my broom! Having dealt with wood floors in our old apartment in New Jersey, I really can't stand sweeping and dust mopping. With us talking about getting wood floors throughout the first floor of our home, I really couldn't imagine not having a vacuum like the Neato XV-21 Automatic Vacuum Cleaner with our busy schedules!

All in all, I am really crossing my fingers and hoping Santa considers putting of these cool vacuum cleaners under our tree this Christmas!
